The Wakkerstroom Natural Fibre Handicraft Fair is in its 5th year of existence and is an exciting forum where people from around South Africa can meet, display their goods and learn more about working with their hands and using natural and organic materials.

The Fair provides craft enthusiasts with the information, ideas, and inspiration they need to support their desire for self-sufficiency, sustainability and a natural lifestyle.

The stall holders and visitors are people who consciously choose natural materials for their handwork projects because of aesthetics, quality, personal health and the environment. The Fair aims to inform and inspire visitors to choose Mother Nature’s supplies whether they create their own or buy ready-made handwork.

Visitors can expect to find a wide array of natural fibre and hand-craft products including toys, apparel, home items, gifts, and seasonal crafts.

Fair Venue

The Wakkerstroom Church - Venue for the Natural Fibre Handcraft Fair

The Wakkerstroom Church stands proud in the middle of the village and its spire can be seen wherever you go in the Wakkerstroom valley.
The cornerstone of this grand old building was laid in 1888 and completed in 1892.
With a facade of white sand stone, quarried from Newcastle it truly is a unique bit of South African history.
Today there are 300 members in this very active church who travel long distances from outlying farms to attend services.
The Fair is proud to be associated with such an integral piece of South African history
